Buckwheat Protein Waffles

Do you know what is so magical about our unflavored and unsweetened line of nutritional blends? You can add them to just about anything – the possibilities are endless. For example, our friend Winnie from the blog Winnie’s Balance uses our Organic Protein in brownies, muffins, pancakes and — waffles!

This simple, plant-based vegan waffle recipe by Winnie can be used with different types of flours and loaded with with whatever toppings your heart desires. Plus, when you use our Organic Protein, you get 15 grams of clean, whole food protein per serving! Do it.

Here’s the recipe for Vegan Protein Waffles:

1/2 Cup buckwheat flour
3/4 Cup almond milk
3 Tbsp The Natural Citizen Organic Protein
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
1/2 Tbsp Coconut sugarSimply mix together gently, then top with whatever you want! Winnie topped this batch with kiwis, peaches, diced oranges, blueberries, yogurt, mango jam, cacao nibs, hemp seeds and sliced almonds. If your pantry or refrigerator doesn’t yield quite an amazing selection, simply slice up some strawberries and honey and you have yourself a delicious, nutritious breakfast. Enjoy!
