If you’re looking for an easy way to add more greens to your diet, then it’s time Green Supplementyou discover Organic Greens. Loaded with green goodness, we’ve gone around the globe to bring you four incredible ingredients that work together to bring out the best in your green smoothie.

Why only four ingredients? Because we experimented with hundreds of ingredients, and we selected these as the best of the land and the sea. Each of the ingredients in our Organic Greens delivers a unique nutritional profile and benefit to the formulation, and they all work together to provide you with a whole lotta daily green good loving.

So, let’s discover what’s going on in the Organic Greens!

First, we source our moringa from an organic farm in India where the moringa trees are nourished to grow tall from little seedlings. The mighty Moringa oleifera is native to the foothills of the Himalayas, and it grows rapidly despite the intense climate. The tree is tough and drought resistant, which is perhaps how it earned its nickname “the mighty moringa.”[1]

Moringa Harvest

After the leaves are harvested, they are washed by hand before drying.

The leaves and pods of the moringa tree have been consumed as vegetables among the locals for centuries and are often cooked and used like spinach. Loaded with nutrition benefits, the moringa leaf offers an array of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium and iron, among others.[2] It’s for this incredible nutrient profile that the moringa has become a dietary staple of the local culture.

Our moringa grows free from the use of any pesticides on a farm that is certified organic. It is harvested by hand, and then cleaned and dried, taking great care to preserve the nutrients. Every production of our Organic Greens uses a new batch of freshly-harvested moringa leaves that have been quality-tested and certified organic.

Next, we source our spirulina from Asia where it is grown and nourished in pools under the heat of the hot sun. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that grows naturally in water. It is an incredible source of vegan protein, containing over 50% protein, plus it contains all essential amino acids. This whole food also offers vitamins and minerals like several B vitamins, iron and manganese.[3]

When we set out to find a spirulina, we tested dozens of different materials, and didn’t stop until we found our best option. Our spirulina has a very mild taste, lacking the fishy flavor that you often find in spirulina powder supplements. But beyond the flavor, our spirulina was selected with a focus on quality. We scrutinized test results of every spirulina ingredient we could find, and this one passed our required specification with flying colors with the lowest in heavy metal content.

Barley Grass

Harvest time on the family-owned farm in Eastern Kansas

Our next ingredients, barley grass and alfalfa leaf come from my homeland of Kansas. As my family of farmers can attest, we know a thing or two about growing greens in the breadbasket of America.

We are confident that our barley and alfalfa come from one of the highest-quality sources in the country. Our barley and alfalfa are grown specifically for humans (not animals) in glacial soil without irrigation. This results in very low heavy metal content and rich green color, something you won’t find in most powdered green materials. The family farm where our barley and alfalfa grow has been organic for over 40 years with over 1,000 acres certified organic by the USDA.

We selected alfalfa for our formulation because it is naturally rich in nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin K and folic acid. And, we selected our alfalfa material because it uses the whole leaf, and is the only alfalfa material certified non-gmo by the Non-GMO Project. This aspect of non-gmo was extremely important to us when selecting all of our ingredients.

Our barley is also an incredible source of healthy nutrients with very few calories. Barley offers protein, fiber, B vitamins and numerous minerals like manganese and phosphorus.

Because barley and alfalfa often grow side-by-side with wheat, one of our most difficult tasks was to find a farm that pays special attention to protecting its barley and alfalfa from gluten contamination. In fact, we set out to exceed FDA gluten-free standards (20ppm) and our farmers in Kansas did not disappoint. We exhaustively tested our barley and alfalfa ingredietns to ensure that they are below our specification of 10ppm of gluten. Further, both ingredients have earned gluten free certification by the Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO).

So, there you have it – spirulina from the water, moringa from the trees, and barley and alfalfa from the beautiful fields and farmlands of Kansas. These four amazing ingredients each bring their own unique qualities to our Organic Greens formulation combining to deliver a healthy dose of greens. Enjoy!
